  • Recent Changes

    • U.S. District Court Civil Action Filing Fee Is Increased to $400 (access required)
      The filing fee for civil actions in the U.S. District Court is increased to $400, and some other minor fee changes are made to Appendix A of the Local Rules, effective May 1, 2013.
    • SJC Standing Order on Bar Discipline Appeals Is Extended (access required)
      The SJC Standing Order establishing a modified procedure for appeals in bar discipline cases has been extended until April 1, 2015.
    • New Bankruptcy ‘Verification of Matrix’ Form (access required)
      The U.S. Bankruptcy Court's new "verification of matrix" form has been added to the collection.
    • Time Limit for Filing Appeal Is Tolled by Rule 60 Motion (access required)
      Mass. Rule of Appellate Procedure 4(a) and District/Municipal Courts Rule for Appellate Division Appeal 4(a) are amended to toll the time period for filing an appeal while a motion for relief from judgment under Rule 60 is being decided, if the motion was served within 10 days after entry of judgment, effective May 1, 2013. As a result, new Reporter's Notes have been added to Mass. R. A. P. 4 and to Mass. R. Civ. P. 59 and 60.
    • U.S. Court of Appeals Makes Minor Changes to Summary Disposition Motions (access required)
      The U.S. Court of Appeals will no longer require four copies of a memorandum or brief in support of a motion for summary disposition, among several other minor "housekeeping" changes affecting Local Rules 22.1(e), 27.0(c), and 33.0(a) and (f).
